🏃‍♀️ Running for a Cause: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 🧠

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic illness where the immune system attacks the protective layer around nerves in the brain and spinal cord. This disrupts signals between the brain and body, leading to a wide range of symptoms - fatigue, mobility challenges, vision problems, cognitive changes, etc. - which vary greatly from person to person.

There are different types of MS that affect people in unique ways, the main types being:

• Relapsing-Remitting MS (RRMS): The most common form, marked by sudden flare-ups (relapses) followed by periods of recovery (remission). Symptoms can come and go, making daily life unpredictable.

• Primary Progressive MS (PPMS): A less common type where symptoms gradually worsen from the start, without clear relapses or remissions.

• Secondary Progressive MS (SPMS): Often develops after years of RRMS, with a steady progression of symptoms and fewer relapses.

It is estimated that over 2.8 million people worldwide are living with MS, and while treatments can help manage symptoms, there is currently no cure. That’s why we’re running. Every km helps fund research, improves treatment, and supports the MS community. Thank you for being part of the journey toward hope and healing!❤️
