Story
In March of 2023 our gorgeous little girl, Willow was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at just 3 years old, following months of being poorly and being advised it was continual viral infections.
She underwent 796 days of chemotherapy in a fight to beat this horrible disease. Not only did she fight cancer, she fought several bacterial and viral infections, multiple cases of Covid, the flu, and many other infections. She underwent several surgeries, general anaesthetics for scans, lumbar punctures, bone marrow tests, and chemotherapy treatment. She lost all appetite and dropped in weight, resulting in a feeding tube. She encountered many line infections, which could have been life threatening. She lost her mobility which she has worked so hard to regain and continues to do so, she has severe muscle loss and weakness in her legs and nerve damage in her feet. She has developed severe mental health from her treatment which we are working hard to support her with.
Willow remains in remission but is not cured until after 5 years.
On May 3rd 2026 I, alongside my friends and family will be running the Birmingham Half Marathon.
I am running this for Willow and all other children and families going through all the challenges that we have and continue to face. I am raising funds to help support a charity very close to our hearts, Cure Leukaemia, who have recently launched the ATICUS network, the worlds first paediatric trials! This is going to be life changing for SO many children and their families, a dream come true and I know just how hard all have worked to make this happen.
You're support means so much, and if you can't donate sharing this far and wide may reach someone who can❤️
