Story
Having been diagnosed with Leukaemia at a young age to finally be discharged aged 21 following treatment, tests and check-ups, cancer was something that my family and I thought was far behind us. Today we support Dad as he is treated for an incurable form of lung cancer. The reality gets no easier, but we're in this together and supported by such wonderful people.
I had always hoped that I would raise money for CLIC, the charity that supported my family when I was younger, but I never found a "challenge" I thought worthy of requesting donations. Today I realise that there's no time like the present and that charities like CLIC and Macmillan are working daily to support those who are suffering from cancer or scared by a diagnosis.
Having already signed up to compete in the Blenheim Palace Sprint Triathlon, I realised that this would be the perfect opportunity to raise some money for two very important charities. Taking part in the Sprint version of the triathlon is not perhaps the "challenge" I foresaw as my charitable endeavour, but it certainly won't be easy when put together - 750m swim, 19.8km bike ride + 5.4km run - there's a lot of training ahead!
Any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated and will spur me on to train and complete the challenge! As Just Giving doesn't allow donations to be split between charities, I ask that you help me by checking donations so totals can be as close to 50% CLIC Sargent & 50% Macmillan Cancer Support as possible.
