YoungLives Tayside is part of the Young Life International charity.

We are a registered Christian charity seeking to love, support and mentor teenage mums in the Tayside area. We believe that we have an incredible opportunity to have a generational impact not only on the lives of teenage girls facing the challenges of parenting but on their children as well. Through YoungLives we have the chance to come alongside young mums and their babies to offer acceptance, counsel, friendship, hope and love. We run a club, camps and smaller connection groups. Over the 13 years that we have been running we have seen the tremendous benefit that having safe and consistent role models and friends has been to our young mum friends. They have described YoungLives as like having an 'extended family'. With this support these young mums have gained confidence and self-esteem and have felt equipped and have vision to see a future filled with hope. Some have gone back to further their education, some into jobs, and others simply given the encouragement they needed to be the best mum they can be. All of this would not be possible without the support of volunteers and 'mentor mums' and the financial generosity of many.

This year 9 of these incredible and courageous young mums and 3 of their awesome leaders are going to take on the Kiltwalk -‘THE MIGHTY STRIDE’ is a 20+ mile walk. Participants complete it dressed in tartan and walk all the way from St. Andrews to Dundee.

Why are they going to put themselves through blisters and aching limbs?? They are totally committed because they LOVE being part of the YoungLives family and want to raise as much as they can to pave a way to take a big group of new young mums away to experience a weekend camp in the Perthshire countryside.
