We are joining in with the Steps for Evelina in May because it’s a hospital close to our hearts. It’s such an amazing hospital that transforms, helps and performs medical miracles day in and day out.

So many children pass through these walls daily each with their own story—some born with challenges, others facing such heartbreaking circumstances. These little angels deserve nothing but the very best.

It’s personal to our heart for numerous reasons, our beautiful friend’s little boy Zeyd was born with a complex and extremely rare heart condition called Shone Complex. This is a rare congenital heart defect and Evelina has been providing ongoing care for Zeyd since birth. Zeyd would not be in this world today, if it was not for the care and medical interventions received at this hospital, particularly from the amazing Dr Bell. This was especially shown late last year when they performed miracles and kept this beautiful boy here. Not only have they saved his life, they have many charities such as smile and ECHO which continue to help our friends.

Zeyd is my son’s best friend and he is the kindest, funniest and smartest little boy. Nothing stops him and no matter his difficulties, medical trauma, daily struggles and needs, he does not let that defy him or who he is. He’s a true champion and his resilience, kindness, ability, strength, bravery and aura amazes us every day. We thank Evelina daily for keeping him here with us.

So please, help us to raise money for these real life heroes and help children like Zeyd and many others to continue to survive, thrive and live. We will be walking 104 miles in May! That will be a challenge for us!
