We did it! Caroline, Lizzie and Chris trudged the 31 miles....didn't get lost (bonus!), but did get soaked at lunchtime and then home by 6pm ish which was fantastic.... we were greeted by Sam, Tim, Michelle, Sandra and Aunty Ev, the lovely hospice team and a bottle of bubbles...well worth the effort! So that's it for another year....shall we do it again?....who knows? Thank you for those who have supported us with kind messages, generous donations and lots of love. Watch this space for further fundraising.xxxxx

Here is an update to all friends who have walked, raised money, sponsored or just supported us over the last 2 years. Alans Forget me Not Fund now stands at £21,075.36. Thank you once again for all the help and unbelievable generosity, love and friendship.
I am hoping to complete the Worcester Way again this year ...the third year in a row and have, I think, managed to form another Team Sutton...but there is always room for more willing volunteers! The date is June 14th so please let me know if you want to come along.
Meanwhile any sponsorship will be, as always very much appreciated, or I am happy to do garden tidying, ironing, baking and cleaning in payment for sponsorship....just a different way to earn some funds for such a worthy cause.
I look forward to hearing from you all
With love from Caroline xx
January 2013 Just an update to let you know that the total amount in Alan's Forget Me Not fund is £20760.00. Thank you so so much to everyone who continues to donate, support and more important remember Alan and what he meant to us. I will be doing some more challenges this year so anyone who wishes to join Team Sutton will always be most welcome. Thank you again. With love from Caroline
Well once again Team Sutton DID IT!!!
Phew Friday was a long hard battle for the team of Dave, Dave Stu, Lisa & Caroline. The weather was kind but the underfoot conditions were totally unforgiving and with grit and wills of iron we made it back for 5.45pm and Lisa our lovely stalwart was there for 7.45.....brilliant guys (never again eh?)
Then on Saturday once again our team of 12 knuckled down to the 4 hrs of rowing, more hours of walking and the relief of cycling alorralorra miles.
Massive thanks to Colette,Suna,Dave, Bev,Jackie,Andy,Nigel, Jane, Mike, Julie, Keith and Caroline for their sweet disposition throughout it all and for completing a big ask.
Finally thank you so much to all who have donated so generously in recognition of everyones efforts....that is the best pain relief of the lot....well maybe a glass of wine or two helps as well. Thank you all so much.
Forget me Not Fund Number 103
Team Sutton was formed after the devastating loss of Alan who was a wonderful husband, dad, brother and friend. He was extremely fit and was struck by cancer with no warning signs and in the course of a 2 hour hospital appointment was told he had terminal cancer with an 8 month life expectancy. He didn't give into that and fought bravely for 2 years until he could fight no more and the disease took him away from all our lives. His wisdom, his love and his humour is missed everyday and life seems very empty without him. But in June 2011 we formed an amazing team who successfully completed the Worcestershire Way walk and raised a lot of money for St Richard's Hospice in Alan's memory. He would have been so proud of the friends and family who took on the challenge of joining the "fitness freaks" to walk and train in order to complete the Malvern Hills walk and the Worcestershire Way. Complete it we did ....at the end of the fundraising period we had raised in excess of £12000 for the hospice in Alans name. Now we have new teams and new challenges. The Worcestershire Way June 22nd this year comprises of Lisa (chatty & gorgeous) Gammond, Dave (getting fit ) Bemand, Dave ("fat boy") Phillips,Stuart (Dogger, Sharkey) Clarke and Caroline (bossy boots) Sutton....we all talk alot (with the exception of Bemand ) so we will talk our way along the roads and lanes on this 31mile walk, but will no doubt quieten down at North Malvern!!. We also have another team with some faces from last year and some new faces taking on the St Richard's Paddle, Plod, Peddle event June 23rd 2012 which is 45 miles in a day. Our team is made up of Colette (Mrs Determined) Hardiman, Bev (where's my wine) Fain, Dave (mines a pint ) Fain, Mike & Julie (why are we doing this) Perks, Nigel & Jane (who said yes to this ) Fain, Suna (oh no not another challenge) Senior, Andy and Jackie (we're coming all the way fromScotland for this )Smith , Keith (Sam, Mr Fitness) Shouler, & Caroline (bossy boots) Sutton. There will be alot of work on that day and having had our rowing practice last night (Wednesday).....we don't think it will be quite as easy as we had hoped!!! Anyway it's onwards and upwards and thanks to the wonderful donations we have already received, the great memorial footie match that Graham Holmes and the Hanley Swan football team ran, Maxine Bemands coffee morning and all the fantastic donations both on and off line we have some serious money heading it's way to the hospice.
Thank you once again for all your support
