Imagine the fastest, safest, earth-munching all-terrain vehicle in the world. Then imagine the opposite. Three wheels, half a horse power and with less structural integrity than a Halfords tent, the humble Rickshaw is undoubtedly the worst long distance, off-road machine ever designed. Now imagine trying to hustle this engineering question mark over the or through the Rajasthan desert...

The Rickshaw Run is pretty simple. With no preparation and even less luggage we fly to the Indian Subcontinent and do our damndest to force 150cc of glorified lawnmower over thousands of miles of inhospitable terrain in around two weeks, with no support whatsoever. Fools gather from all the corners of the earth to hurt themselves on the fabled Rickshaw Run that thunders through each year.

After a successful jaunt to in 2005, me and my fellow adventurists TEAM JAWS will, in January 2011, squeeze into one of these wheeled mantraps and head 2000 miles across , all in the name of charity. A dangerous mission that will bring us in to close proximity to tigers (maybe) snakes (who knows) but most of all BIG scary lorries (ARGH)!

No sleep for 2000 miles, danger round every bend…surprisingly, we’re not doing this for our health, but for a fantastic charity called Frank Water (http://www.frankwater.com), and would like to ask for your support. In short, FRANK Water Projects funds sustainable clean water projects in developing countries across the world. Every pound donated gives one person access to clean water for life; less than the cost of a bottle of mineral water, it’s a small price for something that makes such a big difference....
