Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries in the world; of the 160 million people living in the low lying flood plains of the Ganges River only 53% have access to sanitation. In addition a fifth of all deaths can be attributed to lack of clean water. Water Aid helps thousands of people every year to gain access to those basic amenities we take for granted. Their work in Bangladesh and across the world is vital (See www.wateraid.org.uk for more information).

Thames Water in partnership with Water Aid, are aiming to travel the 6000 miles from Clearwater Court (Thames Water HQ) to Bangladesh by human power alone. Between the 22nd March and 4th April, we are asking our employees in teams of five to clock up as many miles as they can by any means they can, walking, swimming, cycling, even roller blading or dancing! That’s not all, each team will be in competition with a variety of prizes to be won for furthest travelled, most money raised and most creative method of travel.
