Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
We are raising money for the Southern African Scholarship Fund at the University of Brighton by cycling 40 miles from Brighton to Hastings campus during Green Week.
The Santander Foundation will also be supporting the event by match-funding 3/5ths of what we raise up to the value of £2100. So please help us hit our fundraising target of £4400, so we can raise £6500 to help the development of southern Africa! If 44 people take part, this means raising £100 each.
The Southern African Scholarship Fund helps the development of South Africa and its neighbouring countries that were deeply affected by apartheid by funding Southern African Scholars on courses which directly benefit the wider community when they return home. To date, the fund has supported trainee teachers, engineers, doctors and nurses. Your sponsorship will help provide a scholarship to a student from South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique or Angola.
The university gives fee waivers on courses and free accommodation for scholars and the fund covers all logistical costs including flights, food, and a clothing budget for the different climate.
So please dig deep and donate now.
