The 8th annual saigonchildren™ Charity Cycle Adventure (CCA) will take place from 17-19 November 2017. A group of brave cyclists, both experienced and less experienced will explore the stunning valleys around Da Lat for two days, before climbing our of Dalat for the long descent to the coast at Nha Trang. All riders will be raising funds in support of saigonchildren™, which help disadvantaged children and youngsters in Vietnam to get a fairer start in life, through access to the education they deserve.
Riders will begin in the forested central highlands of Da Lat, formerly a resort destination for French colonists. Winding their way down through the tree-lined roads, riders will enjoy the picturesque scenery of the countryside as they pass small villages and farms. After two days of exploring the valleys and trails, enjoying the refreshing mountain air, the riders will begin their descent toward Nha Trang. Riding along beautiful coastal roads, Nha Trang’s world-famous beach awaits the riders at the finish line, providing the perfect destination after their long journey.
Each rider pays a personal registration fee to saigonchildren™ which covers all the costs of the event. In addition, and separate to the registration fees, each rider also commits to raise a minimum of $US500 through sponsorship which goes directly to support saigonchildren™ programmes. The ride fundraising target does not include the registration fees.
Saigonchildren™ works toward a goal of eliminating barriers to education by granting scholarships, providing vocational and life skills training, building schools in rural areas, and by supporting other organizations that help students with disabilities. In 2016 alone the CCA raised over $US30,000 to help children, and in total, over the span of 7 years, this event has raised over $US280,000, providing substantial support for the critical work saigonchildren™ does in Vietnam.
