On July 14 2012, two enthusiastic amateurs, Jez Thompson and Ant Golsby, will attempt to climb the highest mountain in Western Europe, Mont Blanc. The climb will involve 4 days training and acclimatisation, then a 2-3 day summit attempt. We welcome any support.
All donations will go to our two chosen charities: Sarcoma UK (Ant) and Plan International (Jez).
Sarcoma UK - For those of who work with Anthony, you may need no introduction to this and the work Rita is doing to raise funds for cancer research and support.
For others, you may be unaware of these types of cancer. Sarcomas are rare cancers that develop in the supporting or connective tissues of the body, and are some of the most common childhood cancers with 3200 cases of sarcoma diagnosed each year in the UK alone.
Plan International is a global children’s charity. They work with children in the world’s poorest countries to help them build a better future. A future you would want for all children, your family and friends.
For over 70 years they’ve been taking action and standing up for every child’s right to fulfil their potential by giving children a healthy start in life, including
· access to safe drinking water
· securing the education of girls and boys
· working with communities to prepare for and survive disasters
· inspiring children to take a lead in decisions that affect their lives
· enabling families to earn a living and plan for their children’s future
They do what’s needed, where it’s needed most. They do what you would do.
With our support, children, families and entire communities have the power to move themselves from a life of poverty to a future with opportunity.
Please support us by supporting Plan and giving children a chance in life.
