Happy Bank Holiday everyone!
I have just spoken with the Army Parachute Association at Netheravon and we are all go for Wednesday. In order to get people through please can I ask that the following times are adhered too.
All civillians and non 8 Trg Bn REME Personnel are to meet at the Welfare Centre, MOD Lyneham at 0645hrs. Registration will then take place and a coach will take you to Netheravon to complete your training before jumping.
All 8 Trg Bn REME personnel are to meet at the Welfare centre at the entrance of the barracks at 1230hrs. You will then be registered before being taken to Netheravon by coach.
Meeting point - MOD Lyneham Welfare Centre. This is located at the entrance of camp. The Welfare centre is the immediate right turn before the military checkpoint. If you are unsure please just ask the guard force and they will direct you. Post code SN15 4XX

DUE TO THE POPULARITY AND LIFT CAPABILITY REQUIRED THE DATE HAS HAD TO CHANGE SO THE SURROUNDING DROP ZONE AREA CAN BE CLOSED FOR OUR EVENT.

8 Trg Bn REME will attempt to break the current World Record of most Tandem Parachute jumps (403) in 24 hours at Netheravon airfield, Wiltshire. Our target is to have at least 456 jumpers, each participant representing a British Soldier who died during the Afghanistan Campaign whilst serving his and her country.
The event is being organised by 8 Trg Bn REME, an army unit based in Lyneham. The event is being organised to raise money for the ABF- The Soldiers' Charity.
Each person taking part will be required to raise at least £350 or you can make the difference up on the day. The 3 individuals who raise the most money will have the option to do their Tandem jump with a member of the elite 'Red Devils'!
Including the Tandem jump, transport and food will be provided with a bacon roll and coffee before leaving Lyneham; a BBQ after the event will be provided at Netheravon.
Free return Transport will be provided from Lyneham to Netheravon and a certificate will be awarded of your achievement!
How to get involved and sign up!

Once you have raised £50 of your minimum £350 target you will receive an administration pack explaining all the details of the day. Along with the admin pack you will also receive a t-shirt and other goodies from the charity you are fundraising for!
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS?
There is a weight restriction of 90Kg.
There is no longer a requirement to have a medical if you are over 40 years old. All participants are to complete the following form and bring it with you on the day.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Netheravon Airfield Camp has a strict “no visiting dogs on camp” policy. Therefore we respectfully request that you leave your dogs at home.
IS THERE GOING TO BE A LOT OF WAITING AROUND?
Please be prepared to spend the whole day at the parachute centre! Every effort is made to get you into the air as soon as possible but sometimes a delay is unavoidable, particularly if the weather is marginal. Please come prepared, especially if bringing young children with you.
CAN PEOPLE COME AND WATCH ME?
Yes, you can bring friends and family. Please let your guest(s) know that they must bring photo ID. If they are arriving in a separate vehicle from you, they must also have a completed guest proforma.

IS THERE ANYWHERE TO EAT AT THE JUMP CENTRE?
There will be a BBQ after you have jumped, but if you want something beforehand there is a canteen on site which provides hot and cold snacks from 8am.
Alcohol consumption is forbidden during the parachuting programme.
ABF - The Soldiers' Charity
The ABF give a lifetime of support to soldiers and former soldiers from the British Army, and their immediate families, when they are in need. They make grants to individuals through their Regiments and Corps and support a wide range of specialist charities that sustain the British Army ‘family’, both at home and around the world.
