Getting Muddy for Silas and Charley

Team photo

So, the major series? really? you four? See you more in a bar sipping something alcoholic and having a gossip.  Well surprise!!!!! 10k run, ice, mud, electricity, enclosed spaces and projectiles.......yes why aren't we in that bar? "you must be super fit?" Err well actually.......

We are a group of mothers, daughters, friends who have sadly felt the loss of two lives this past 12 months.  Two extremely young, vivacious, generous, giving and magnificent lives.

Silas Pullen, a beautiful 11 year old boy taken by a glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain tumour. We signed up to the Major Series to raise as much money as possible in his memory to add to The Silas Pullen Fund via the Brain Tumour Charity.

With less than a month before we take part, this week we also lost Charley.  Charlotte Kitley, a 36 year old mother of two diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer.  As a friend of Moray's we decided we'd like to honour her memory also to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK.

Knowing both families, we knew that ultimately with both there was never going to be a happy outcome for either Silas or Charley.  That still didn't stop us from hoping something could bring them longer or a miraculous cure. So by raising lots of lovely money we want to both honour their memories AND help in finding a cure for those still going through this cruel journey.

We want as many people to know about them as possible, to know more about these very underfunded lesser known diseases.  So the good news is that even by coming here you might learn more about them.

BUT we'd love it if you could give up your fancy coffee, dig down the back of the sofa (or even rob a bank -just don't get caught!) and sponsor us!

We know it won't be easy to choose, so it would be wonderful if you could see fit to split your donation between the two very worthy funds.

Did we mention the cold? the mud? the projectiles? the 10k? oh yes and the fear of enclosed spaces and potential cattle prods?  We are only going to make it with YOUR HELP!

so of we may quote "No matter what"- Debi Gliori

"love like starlight, never dies"

Thank you,

Moray, Sarah, Sarah and Emma
