This May, SOS Africa’s "Nominate an Inmate" 24 Hour Charity Lock-In will return to the currently vacated cells of the UK's once oldest operational prison, HMP Cornhill, Shepton Mallet. Shortlisted for an IOF National Fundraising Award, "Nominate an Inmate" was first organised by Shepton Mallet based Charity SOS Africa in October 2015 during which time 120 inmates were sentenced to each spend 24 hours at the prison, and raised an incredible £35,000.
Courtesy of City & Country, taking place during the weekends of the 20th/21st and 27th/28th May, from the moment they are placed in irons, inmates will participate in an authentic prison experience and face challenges, which are sure to put their nerves to the test.
