15 Aug: Well, after limited training and much struggling, I completed the Ride London-Surrey 100. I have to say I was greatly helped along the way by the staggering generosity of all of you who have donated to what I believe to be two very worthy causes.
I have to say I was quite apprehensive prior to the ride day, as I'd managed a couple of longish training rides but at a somewhat leisurely pace that didn't match the time limit imposed upon us amateurs by the professional race that would be catching us up throughout the afternoon. So I am more than glad and a little surprised to have finished in a ride time of 6hrs 14min. The race was extremely well organised and the total closure of roads was a massive boon to the enjoyment of the day; unlike Leith Hill which I'm in no hurry to see again.

In August I hope to complete the inaugral Ride London-Surrey 100 (along the 2012 Olympic route) and I would like to take the opportunity to raise some money for a couple of worthy causes close to my family. Although I can't help but notice it's one particular branch of the family...
Anyway, in scenes remininscent of X-factor (et al), you now get the chance to vote for whom you think worthy enough out of my brother and my neice. If you like to hedge your bets, then why not support both?
