The Royal London Hospital Rickshaw Runners

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. We are a group of friends from the A&E department at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, one of four major trauma centres in our nation's capital.

We've joined together to raise money for London’s Air Ambulance, the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London. London's Air Ambulance celebrates 25 years of service on 9^thJanuary 2014.  Having treated over 30,000 critically injured patients in London and attended most major incidents, since inception, the charity relies heavily on the generosity of the people of London to maintain its service. In its 25^th year, the charity is asking for your help to acquire a desperately needed second helicopter and to recruit additional pilots and fire crew to extend its daylight flying hours in the summer months, enabling the service to reach an estimated further 400 patients per year by aircraft.

In April, we're leaving for India to take part in The Rickshaw Run, a race between the two ends of India across 3,500km of desert, jungle and urban sprawl, using possibly the most unsuitable motorised vehicle for the job at hand, a 140cc Rickshaw with a top speed of 55kmph (when going downhill).
