I read somewhere that 3% of newborn babies require Special Care, 1% require Intensive care. Sam was one of the 1%. He was born 12 weeks early at Hinchingbrooke Hospital with very little sign of life. The staff managed to get him stable enough to transfer to Intensive care at The Rosie in Addenbrookes, after 6 weeks intensive care came another 6 weeks special care back at hinchingbrooke.
Sams journey hasn't been easy, but today he is a very happy baby. We already knew people that had similar journeys so to help make those 3% of new borns get the best chance and for the family units to be supported the Family and Friends of Sam have come together to perform Sams Walk, the 23 mile Journey home from the Rosie.
