In July 2019, our friend Michael Stead died 10 months after being diagnosed with cancer. He was 37.
Whilst ill Michael dedicated himself to raising money and awareness for Bowel Cancer UK, including raising £25,000 running a 'Decembeard' team challenge.
In life, he was a talented runner, always keen to push his limits and seek new challenges; when he died the marathon seemed a natural fit to continue the good work that he started before he died.
There are six of us running the marathon in his memory, including Michael's widow Hannah.
All and any support is much appreciated.
