Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
Team Haem will be running the Birmingham half marathon on 16th October 2016 and raising money for Cure Leukaemia. The team is made up primarily of staff who work in the Haematology department of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and includes doctors and nursing staff, haematology laboratory staff, pharmacists, medical secretaries and various other assorted, enthusiastic friends. We also have 2 team members who were patients with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia treated here at Worcester so this challenge and the money raised for Cure Leukaemia will have an even greater significance.
Most of us have not done much running before so a 13.1 mile run is a massive challenge but one that we are all really looking forward to as it is for such a worthy cause.
Cure Leukaemia is a fantastic regional charity based in Birmingham. The charity has very strong links to the Haematology unit here in Worcestershire and helps fund vital research nurses which allows us to participate in the latest clinical trials meaning our patients with haematological cancer have access to the latest treatments.
