Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. We've joined together to raise money for Caring Matters Now, the only UK dedicated charity to support those affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN), a rare disorder affecting the skin and brain.
We are a team participating in the 2016 Nightrider which is a 100km sponsored bike ride through an iconic city during the night!
There are three rides taking place:
London 4th June 2016
Bristol 25th June 2016
Liverpool 16th July 2016
As a team we plan to participate in at least one of the above rides and raised funds for Caring Matters Now.
Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN),is an association of dark brown/black birthmarks (moles) which can cover up to 80% of the body.
CMN are mostly untreatable and carry an increased risk of malignant melanoma, the most dangerous form of skin cancer.
CMN syndrome is the association of these moles with neurological problems including brain tumours, spinal tumours, developmental complications, fluid on the brain and/or characteristic facial features.
Caring Matters Now works in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital, by funding the CMN research. The ultimate aim of the CMN research is to try to develop treatments for CMN, including the neurological complications and the devastating, fatal malignant melanoma.
The funds raised from this challenge will fund further research projects associated with CMN, in particular melanoma in CMN.
