#claireschallenge

#claireschallenge was set up September 2017, just weeks after Claire was first diagnosed with both breast and cervical cancer aged 33. Claire was passionate about doing good, giving back and turning a negative situation into a positive one.

Claire asked friends, family and strangers to take on something new, try a new sport, bake a cake or do something crazy to help raise money for charity. Everyone rose to the challenge and raised over £27,000 from over 50 challenges for Macmillan and Cancer Research.

Claire then went on to complete the London Marathon 2019 just 9 months after chemotherapy raising a further £11,000 for Macmillan, specifically MacBrum.

Claire and her sister Sarah also found out they are BRACA2 positive meaning they have both had preventative surgeries to reduce their risk of cancer. So, they have both decided to come to together raise a further £40,000 for MacBrum to raise an incredible total of £50,000 to be spent in Birmingham and the Black Country, to help families just like theirs.

The girls will hold an annual MacBrum Ball as well as taking on a big team challenge that will change every year!

Family, friends and strangers are continuing to raise money by joining their team and taking on their own #claireschallenge

It costs £28 to pay a Macmillan nurse for 1 hour. To date #claireschallenge has powered over 800 hours. Could you power an hour by taking on a challenge? We would love to have you onboard! Why not join our team?
