Introductions first. Meet the team - Carol, Hilary, Sheena, Helen, Kirsty, Shannon, Kate, Lynn, Kyla & Libby.
What we aim to do is shear sheep for a period of eight hours. We will be set up on 5 boards and shearing in half hour stints (2 to a board). After our work is done some of the professional shearers will take to the boards and compete in a little speed shear - the speed these guys & gals (as we are fortunate enough to have a top female shearer coming to compete) will amaze you!! Then tools down and a big shin-dig and auction/raffle at night.
Now we all work on farms but none of us claim to be shearers we are simply getting together to do something unique to raise money for two charities - the RHET (Royal Highland Education Trust) and Newton Stewart Community Hospital.
