On 14th March 2018, my Dad died. This was sudden and unexpected, a shocking turn of events which broke many hearts.
We decided to try to make something good out of a terrible situation by choosing three charities that we would like to raise money for, in memory of Dad. We chose Lancashire Mind, Stockport Mind and Cancer Research.
We feel that all three charities do very important work in their fields and geographical areas. It's worth mentioning that the cause of Dad's death wasn't cancer or related to mental health but these are just three charities that we wanted to support through this fundraising.
People who wanted to donate to charity instead of bringing flowers to the funeral were able to do so on this page. We also auctioned off a Blackburn Rovers shirt that was going to be a 60th birthday present for Dad, which the club kindly got signed for us.
I signed up to run the Lancaster Marathon in September 2018 but a back injury stopped me. I ran three Half Marathons in three weekends in spring 2019 instead, to finish off the campaign.
You can donate to one or more of the charities by clicking on the pages relating to them below.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our page and for all donations received.
