Thank you for visiting our "Team Pat" fundrasing page.
In October we are taking part in the Camel to Castle Cycle - a 273 mile cycle from Padstow in Cornwall to Nantes in France , in memory of my amazing mum, Pat Wheeler, who tragically lost her 8 week battle with Pancreatic Cancer at the end of April 2017.
My mum spent 24 years of her life raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care, but it was only when she was admitted herself, first to St Julia's, and then to Mount Edgcumbe that we fully appreciated what she had been tirelessly fundraising for. The dignity and support they gave to both her, and her family during the last 2 weeks of her life was amazing in every way. I cannot imagine going through what we did without the support of the incredible hospice staff, and we will be eternally grateful for this.
So we are going to continue her legacy by fundraising in her memory as she did for so many years, so other families can benefit as we did. "Team Pat" was formed by my brother shortly after our mum died, when he signed himself and 12 of his friends up to do a cycling challenge and raised an amazing £42000!! This year we would love to do the same....or maybe even more! Every donation you make will help us do this.
My son William also wanted to join Team Pat, and had the idea to ask his friends to donate to his page for his 9th birthday instead of receiving presents.
Cornwall Hospice Care receives very little government funding so totally relies on fundraising to operate. The difference you are making:
£20 will fund an hour of nursing care
£34 wil fund an appointment with a Lymphoedema Nurses to help someone living with the symptoms of cancer.
On behalf of all of us we thank you for any contribution you can make. If you know more than one person in the team it does not matter who you donate too - we are in this together.
Thank you so much
Emma and Team Pat xx
