The staff from supported housing provider Stonham based in will get on their bicycles on June 7th when they take part in the Norwich 50 Bike Ride organised by the British Heart Foundation.
The ride has two options; a 100 mile route or a slightly gentler 50 mile option. It starts atand the shorter route heads around and back through Broadland.
Stonham Service Manager Nicky Galwey-Woolston, said: “Many of our staff use bicycles every day to visit clients so when we heard about the50 we all thought let’s go for it.
“Our staff have formed ‘Team Stonham’ with 11 of us taking part in the event. It’s a great idea to raise money for charities and it promotes healthier living and eases pressure on the environment. We are training hard for the event and our target is to raise £500. All money raised will be divided between our own client welfare fund and St Martins Housing Trust and Salvation Army Pottergate ARC which both provide services to homeless people in the region.”
Clive, has been helped by all three organisations. He said “Pottergate ARC have really helped me. Stonham have put a lot of things in place for me and without St Martins I would be on the streets so I think it’s a good idea to raise money for them”.
