Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge · 4 May 2009

Mobile phones and wireless communication technology is used with almost no precautionary advice. The purpose of the RRT is to uncover and communicate the facts concerning electro-magnetic radiation on our and our children's health, whilst trying to raise funding to research conditions such as electrosensitivity, EMFs and cancer etc.

Story

Team TaDa! - Samworth Brothers' Charity Challenge 2009 - 65kms of lunacy - DONE!

Dear All,

Well, we are back one one (rather wet and soggy) piece.

Weather was awful - driving rain, wind and very cold for June - It was Snowing at the Summit in the morning above 700m altitude. (the photos are more typical of June (?) and were taken on a training day in the Peak district in May)

The Canoe section was completed in record time, despite the driving wind and waves.

A serious navigational error in Grizdale forest lead to a major excursion, and an additional 13kms to cover. It was a very serious route indeed!

Up in the mountains we faired better, the rain stopped, but the wind increased.

After 14 hours, 3 changes of clothes, several sandwiches, pasties, snacks and baps we were back at the finish and definitely ready for beer (Bluebird that is - Conistons finest brew)

Not many photos unfortunately due the the sheer volume of water from the heavens. If any survive, we'll post them here. If not, we'll need to show certificates and scars to those who need proof we did it!

Thanks again to all who supported us - we won the prize for the most money raised by an individual team - with gift aid this came in on budget (as they say) at £7500 - fab!

Tim, Andy, Damian and Andrew.
