Primark Wakefield's Lockdown Step Challenge

Jessica Siddall is raising money for St Catherine's Church Centre

Primark Wakefield's Lockdown Step Challenge · 10 January 2021

We urgently need a new minibus! Our buses provide transport for our Elderly Day Care Service for disabled, vulnerable, isolated elderly clients. The buses also collect & distribute food donations for our Food Bank which supports families in crisis.

Story

St Catherine's Church Centre runs three mini buses which are used to transport elderly, vulnerable and socially isolated elderly clients to and from the centre five days per week. This service is a lifeline for our elderly clients and their families allowing clients the opportunity to socialise, take part in stimulating and fun activities and access a hot lunch. The minibuses are also used to collect and distribute food for our Food Bank which provides vital and practical support for those living in crisis in our District. It would not be possible to run either of these services without our buses. We've just found out that our oldest minibus is no longer road worthy and too expensive to repair. We urgently need a replacement bus in order to continue to run our much needed projects.
