Bury Hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care to hundreds of residents and their families across Bury. It will cost to run the Hospice this year £4.5million and we raise 87% of this total, but with the support of our community we continue to provide care and services to those who need it.

Story

Over the past 10 years, Veteran entertainer Ted Selby, has raised £34,000 for Bury Hospice.

Ted, a former professional musician, plays the electric keyboard and piano with his group Ted Selby and his Entertainers.

The group are a well-known sight around care homes and day centres across Greater Manchester, where they perform charity concerts to raise money.

Ted's story has touched many lives including that of celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford. Ted and his fundraising were recently identified by the television programme Secret Millionaire, during which, Lee visited Bury and spent time with Ted and his entertainers and at Bury Hospice. The episode of Ted and Lee's story will be screened on Sunday 6th November at 9pm on Channel Four. To help add to the amount raised by Ted (and Lee) for Bury Hospice, please donate now!

Ted himself has battled with cancer for a number of years. He has only recently undergone more surgery. Where others might concentrate on their own health, on being discharged from Hospital, Ted's first thoughts were of the Hospice and how he could raise even more money. Ted is a beautiful person and a true gentleman. Please donate now and help support his efforts!
