How long can you stand hunger? One third of the refugees and migrants who have arrived in Europe are children. UNICEF is responding to the needs of all uprooted children at every stage of their journey, urging governments to protect their rights. All children on the move are vulnerable to abuse and other grave forms of violence during and after their journeys. It is estimated that more than one child dies every day along the perilous Central Mediterranean route from North Africa to Italy. Of the almost 100,000 refugees and migrants travelling via this route in the past year, around 15 percent are children. In support of this cause, Warwick UNICEF On Campus is organising FAST24, a fasting event which lasts for 24 hours to raise funds for the victims of children. All of the funds will be donated to UNICEF UK. Details as below: During FAST24, exciting and fun group activities will be conducted by members from UNICEF On Campus. We are also inviting speakers (details will be revealed soon!). Besides, you will be able to meet new friends who share the same concern as you! Above all, certificates of participation will be given to all participants who succeed in fasting for 24 hours.
