Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On October 4th 2014 the absolutely loveliest and fabulous Zumba & Fitsteps instructor Toni-Jayne Bouncer is to hold a Fitstepathon to raise funds for The Cardiomyopathy Association (CMA).

The inspiring force is my husband Jim Wass. Jim has been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy since January 2002. It is with thanks to attending a CMA Information Day in February 2014 that we knew what questions we should ask our Consultant (thanks to Heart Specialists from Birmingham and London). It has led to the finding Jim needed imminent heart valve surgery at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton (op took place on 29th August 2014). Life at present for the whole family is like 'a roller-coaster ride' for him, myself, and our children. Close friends and good neighbours have been found to be golden.

I trained as a nurse so one day I could 'give back' to others as nurses have helped Jim. By holding this charity event I can give back a little more to the CMA, by  raising awareness and to raise funds for the charity.

The poster for the event is attached and the website for the CMA is: http://www.cardiomyopathy.org/

Kind regards

Claire Wass, from Kidderminster
