Story
Hilarious! Myself and Katie voluntarily walking the marathon for charity.
Surprisingly we had actually discussed running the London Marathon but came to the conclusion that it was an outrageous idea, so we're joining my mum and my sisters best pals (Cathy and Gilly) to do the moon walk.
You are probably thinking why would we do something quite as ridiculous as walk through London during the night in our bras??!!
Well there is a very good reason. My sister Max was sadly diagnosed with secondary liver cancer last year on the 8th February. Although she was really poorly throughout her illness she still kept smiling and was more concerned about the rest of us, particularly me as at one point I hadn't left the hospital or more importantly washed my hair in 5 days!!! Having bravely fought her illness Max tragically passed away on the 26th March 2006 at the age of just 32. She was an amazing sister and my best friend, who is hugely missed by everyone who knew her.
Myself, Max and Mum always spoke about doing the moon walk , so in her honour we are donning some swanky new trainers and power walking our way to raising much needed funds for research and support into breast cancer.
Before you ask there is no time target for us to hit. We intend to all cross the line together, whether we are walking, crawling or in fact being piggy backed by a rather hunky volunteer!!
On a more serious note, every single pound we can raise will make a huge difference in fighting this horrible disease and hopefully prevent other families going through such heart-breaking times in the future.
Thanks guys,
Thea & Katie xx
