Otto is 5 years old and suffers with Cerebral Palsy. In January 2018 he travelled to America to have a life changing operation called SDR in which the nerves in his spine causing spasticity were cut to allow him to move more freely. After the operation Otto had to relearn how to use his new, floppy legs and through intensive physio has worked to strengthen muscles he was previously unable to use. Through his strength, determination and sheer hard work he has progressed from not being able to walk in January to being able to run, climb stairs and jump like all of his friends just 7 months later! The most amazing things is that he has done all of this with a smile on his face! To celebrate his fantastic achievement Otto entered the Superhero Series Paratriathlon in August 2018 and managed to swim 150m, cycle 3km and run 1km, something which he could not have even thought of attempting last summer. He used this event as an opportunity to raise money which will be used to enable other children with cerebral palsy to access the SDR surgery that has already changed Otto's life so significantly. If you are reading this page then you are hopefully considering donating to this fund - we would all like to thank you so much for giving Otto the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of other children like him.
