Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Welcome to The Fashion Detectives JustGiving page.

In early 2013, my extended Bradford family suffered a double loss: my dad's brother, Tom, and my stepdad's brother, Noel, both passed away after very brave battles with cancer.

Both blokes were diamonds. Both were in their 60s.

Both were brilliantly looked after at the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford.

And I'm sure both would have raised a smile at the fact our fundraising activity, in their joint memory, is a 10km stroll around a vineyard (hic!)

So please help us to say a massive thank you to the wonderful nurses who looked after Tom and Noel, and to help us pay tribute to two fabulous fellas.

Our target isn't huge, but every penny makes a difference:

·         £20 pays for a Marie Curie Nurse for one hour in a patient’s home

·         £70 pays for two slide sheets used by Marie Curie Nurses to move patients safely in bed

·         £180 pays for a full nine-hour shift for a Marie Curie Nurse in the comfort of a patient’s home

Miriam (a journalist colleague of mine) is walking with us and here's why:

Miriam is walking and fundraising in memory of her lovely family friend Ian, who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago. Ian is very much missed and never forgotten. She is also walking in support of a friend's mother - an amazing woman and true survivor - who has battled through many rounds of cancer treatment over the years and who is an inspiration to us all.

Thank you so much for your support xxx
