I am participating in The Great North Run in the historic city of Newcastle on 5 October 2008 in a bid to raise both my fitness and funds for children.  As training for this has caused me some pain thus far, I should be grateful if you kind people may help me raise funds for charity.

As you may know, this is a half-marathon, and is so clocked at 13.1 miles.  Previously, I have done very little running, and am generally fairly stationary, and so I am hoping that you will reward me for my initiative by providing me with a real goal.  I must stress that if you think this is a long way, in practice so far I am keen to agree.

I chose the NSPCC as they are a sponsored charity with my work, and so any monies contributed by you will not only attract Gift Aid (on the basis that you are not donating from your permanent residence in Belize) but it will also be matched by my kind employers.

As an added incentive to you, if I do not reach my target, I will have to make up the difference, about which I may be a little unhappy!  I have so far put in 50 pounds, which was the administration fee covering the NSPCC costs.  This is built in to my minimum NSPCC target of 350 pounds, which will be:

My admin fee of 50 pounds, plus your contributions of 150+ pounds, plus my employers 150+ pounds!

As such, your kind generosity is appreciated in advance.
