Story
Another year and here we are again hoping to complete the 10k in under an hour (Richard only, obviously!! I just want to complete it on the same day I start it!!).
For those of you that don't know, our daughter Lizzie was diagnosed with a Wilm's Tumour (cancer of the kindney) in March 2006. She was very lucky and after a big operation and lots of chemotherapy she is now in remission. She still has to go to Manchester Children's Hospital for check up's every 6 months but as you can see from the photos she is doing very well.
In the past we have always tried to raise money for the Children's Hospital Appeal but with the appeal closing last year having hit their £20m target we decided to run for Cancer Research this year. We know so many people that have had their lives changed by cancer and wanted to help people in the future so they do not have to experience the heartbreaking effect of this disease.
We are very fortunate to have seen the effect of how research into cancer can help as Lizzie's treatment was as a result of years of looking into the best way to treat her type of cancer.
Please help us to give something back and say a huge thank you by sponsoring us. (It will also help Amanda to get off to a good start with her training, because goodness knows she needs it!!!)
