Story

Welcome to the Paul Brennan Tribute Fund.

“The Allotmenteers” are a group of organic veg growers and old friends brought together through the 2020 Covid Lockdown by local lad Jon Stephenson.

From their allotments in Northallerton, North Yorks, their aim for the future is to: “Grow and create some positivity - in the face of global adversity” by donating the proceeds from the veg they grow and sell to help local charities.

With the sad loss of their dear friend Paul Brennan, in Nov 2019 we decided to set up a memorial fund in his name to say thank you to Herriot Hospice for all the support and comfort they provided for Bren and his family.

We would also like our fund to help the Hospice continue the amazing work they do with our local children - through their mental health and bereavement counseling services.

‘The Allotmenteers’ would like to say a massive heartfelt thanks to our old friends Tyrone, George, Greta, and Mark at the Golden Lion/Katch in Northallerton, who have backed and supported this project from its humble beginnings this summer.

Also a huge thank you to some other locally based Northallerton businesses including JT Atkinsons, Tops Tiles, and Jewsons for kindly donating the materials to aid us in building our communal allotment shed a place for us all to sit, chat, and shelter, which we have affectionately named “Brens’ Den!”

We hope to “Grow mighty Oaks from little Acorns!” and have lots of fundraising plans moving forward into 2021.

For those of you who loved and knew Bren – his legacy will live on forever in all our hearts.
