Belinda: My mum lost her life battling cancer for 4 years and I have been doing this since coming to the UK.  I continue to run in memory of her and hope that each penny raised would bring us a step closer in fighting this dreadful disease.

Cindy: This is my first Race for Life as I have been touched by the numerous testimonials and stories of people around me who have overcome cancer.  I am running this race for my loved ones whom I have lost to cancer, and to raise funds to help many others receive the treatment they need.

Desiree: I'm running for love, against all odds.  Since Mom has been diagnosed with cancer, she has shown tremendous faith and courage day by day.  Standing beside her through all things, is Dad.  To all those courageous fighters battling this condition, my hope is that you continue to live in faith and hope, and to find love even in the darkest of times.

Doris: My dear Uncle Tony lost his 7 year fight against lung cancer 3 years ago.  His life, and the events leading up to his death have been a great testimony and encouragement to me (though that is another story).  I am running in memory of him.  Please support me by giving generously to cancer research UK.  It may not have saved Uncle Tony's physical life, but it could stop another family from losing a loved one.

Gabby: I will be running for my mum who passed away 4 years ago.  She was a great mum and an inspirational woman.  I am also running for my friend's child Gabriel who died a few weeks ago fighting cancer until the last minute of his life.

Marketa: I am running for my aunt Jana, who passed away this spring.  She was very sporty, loved cross country skiing and cycling.  She was also an excellent cook and party maker!  I will never forget the New Year's eve celebrations we spent at the country house, dancing all night. She always made everyone feel welcomed in their family home.  She is very much missed.
