Story

Thank you so much for visiting The Wonder Women's Just Giving Page! Hopefully that means you are able to read on and support our epic 2018 challenge for Dreamflight.

We believed our challenge should be truly worthy of your sponsorship! SO, we are taking on an ultimate test of endurance! 2018  is the year of the woman and so the most epic bunch of females have come together to take on an Ultra Challenge to raise funds for Dreamflight to help grant the most magical experience for some truly inspirational children.

On 26th May this year, The Wonder Women Team will set out to conquer a 100km walk non-stop from London to Brighton, estimating a walk time of 24-27 hours.

Our wonder team are Kelly Keating, Louise Poulter, Lauren Brackstone, Charlotte Finn, Gillian Ticehurst, Nicky Weatherup, Alice Cusworth, Jude Sharkey and Jane Rumley who are gunning to conquer the full challenge of 62 miles (100 kilometres) and Lauren Keating, Eloise Burgess and Leah Weatherup are our youngest members, taking on the half distance challenge at an incredible distance of 34 miles (56 kilometres) while studying for their A-level exams, our Team Doctor Abigail Burgess taking on the 25kilometre quarter challenge distance and our one superman Tim Burgess also taking on the 56k challenge.

We feel passionately about our cause, Dreamflight, a charity that annually takes 192 children from across the UK, living with serious illness, disability or life impacting medical conditions to the magic of the theme parks in Florida, to experience 10 incredible days.  An army of volunteer doctors, nurses and physiotherapists make this all possible and we have witnessed first hand what a change this holiday can make to a child, be it a new sense of confidence, freedom, independence, fun, friendship or a most important feeling of belonging.

Our goal is to raise as much money through our charity challenge, to help funding towards as many Dreamflight holiday's as we can for the most incredible children, while individually testing our own limits of stamina and determination. One child's Dreamflight holiday costs £3500.

Throughout January we have been building our training and have a schedule in place that will see us clock up a minimum of 200 miles each before the challenge in May! We will walk into the night, take on whatever weather mother nature throws at us and each find our own new levels of resilience and inner strength!

This bunch of sisters will no doubt suffer some blisters,  but our determination is fierce and every penny you donate will encourage us through this journey. The support of our amazing friends, family, colleagues and schools to reach our fundraising goal adds enormous momentum to our VERY long walks!

Thanks a million from us all xxx
