Peter McVerry Trust is a national homeless & housing charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by social disadvantage and drug misuse. We aim to provide pathways out of homelessness, and to move more people into a home of their own.

Story

As musician and choir director of the local parish choir we tried to keep the choir connected in the early stages of Covid 19. Unfortunatley given the age profile of its members this proved too risky and as a result we were unable to meet safely.

At that time we were joined by the interpreter for the deaf community and as a small team began to provide music/signing on a weekly basis to a virtual community of hearing and deaf people throughout ireland and beyond.

As weeks turned to months and Christmas was looming we decided to p
lan what was initially a straight forward modest live streamed event as a way of spreading a little hope and inspiration within the local comunity while also helping keep the community connected.

Fast forward a few weeks, a labour of love and the support of a few family members, we now have a wonderful online concert which we hope will touch the hearts of young and old alike. Our aim is to spread some hope and inspiration while paying it forward by supporting the Peter Mc Verry Trust in their tireless work with people who find themselves homeless.
