Shine London in the fight against bowel cancer · 29 September 2012 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I've somehow decided to do a walking marathon.  At night.  On my birthday.  This might be a bad idea.

I picked bowel cancer because it's the least glamourous of all the cancers. Each day, more than 100 people are told they have bowel cancer. Thanks to improvements in diagnosis and treatment, the number of people surviving for five years or more has doubled in the last 40 years. But sadly, bowel cancer still claims around 44 lives each day.

So what I'm saying is that if you sponsor me it will TOTALLY make me doing this on my birthday worth it.

If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.  That makes you 25% more virtuous!

I don't like the term 'fight against cancer'.  You fight against fascism. For cancer, you pay for research.
