Great Wall of China Trek · 18 October 2014 to 27 October 2014 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Great Wall of China 2014 JustGiving page.

I along with 29 other colleagues of Homebase, Argos and Home Retail Group will be trekking along The Great Wall of China, over 10 days from the 27th of September 2014 until the 6th of October 2014, and desperately need your help to raise funds for this worthy cause.

My Nan was recently diagnosed with a severe case of Dementia, and it stole from myself and my family much of the woman we loved. Although she is still with us, she has long since stopped being our Nan and is merrily the existence of herself. There is very little of my Nan left, and what is there, I do treasure dearly.

I would like to help her and others like her in the only way I can help, by raising as much money as I can for the Alzheimer's Society. This isn't a send me to China donation page, this is a help save those people who are dear to us donation page.

100% of the money you donate will be going to the charity, I am funding the trip, so don't forget to gift-aid those donations so you help the charity out by ensuring they get even more money!

For those that know me they will know this will be a great physical challenge for me, and one that will require a great deal of preparation and training to be able to take on this challenge.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate — saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please show your support not only in helping me reach my target, but also the entire teams goal of £120,000, by donating as much as you can.

Thanking you for your support and generosity.

Thom.
