Story

Dear all you kind hearted people;-)

If you've come this far to look at my page...you will probably already know my story....I'm Rach (AKA Tink/Tinkerbell/Pricey)

I have done 2 R4L's in my 32 years; the 1st I meant business and the 2nd I meant war, as my Mum, Grandma and Mum-in- law had all been diagnosed with breast cancer in such a short space of time.

This time however, I am sad to say that I'm actually racing for my own life, which seems unbeliveable to even write down.....diagnosed only a few weeks ago and having just lost my wonderful Nana to Cancer in July we have certainly had our fair share of this devastating disease.

I'm constantly reminded everyday that there are people who are suffering even more with Cancer than I am which completely spurs me on to raise lots of money and make a real difference! In just 3 years I have seen some amazing changes to the treatment of breast cancer and that's why we need to continue the fundraising.

My truly incredible friends & family have formed Tink's Army.

A Special thanks to Suzanne for gathering the troops in Tatton Park Cheshire, to the Stanley girls for racing over the Pennines In Wakefield, to Lesley for getting the Redditch girlies rallied for the Worcester R4L and to Sam for gathering a few super-fitties to run the Birmingham half marathon( in pink Lycra no less :-)

Since setting up this page, I continue to be utterly overwhelmed by the support shown by my precious family and friends but also people I don't even know, who have donated and passed on their well wishes. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

The day before my mastectomy, my beautiful, thoughtful friend Steph (all the way over in Dubai) turned my whole facebook 'Pink For Tink''. So many of you (and your pets :-)dressed up in pink wigs/clothes/costumes and sent heart-warming messages to wish me well for the op! I will never forget that day for as long as I live; it makes me emotional now thinking about the effort that was made and the love and support shown to make me feel better, make me smile and know that I'm not alone In my fight against cancer.

I appreciate that there are lots of fundraising events across the country, but it's so simple; Cancer can be a killer and the more money we raise, the better the support, treatment and care for those effected by this disease will be. Lives can be changed! Lives can be saved.... I'm planning on proving that like my amazing Mum, Grandma and Mum-in-law.

Thank you for helping me face the battle ahead with courage and determination to kick cancer's sorry butt!!!

Lots of love, from a very grateful Rachel xxx
