Back in July last year, a friend, and a colleague of mine Cey
(Jay) currently a schools officer, said he was organising a London to Paris bike ride in August 2018 for Tanyel’s Smile. I said yes. Now before we go any further let me tell you little bit about him. Cey and his wife Gulay run a charity helping young cancer sufferers in the memory of their beautiful daughter Tanyel they lost to cancer when she was only 20. Anyway back to the conversation; I said yes and he went on saying it was 250k in 24hours. I said yes again. He wasn’t even asking yet and knowing how fit I am (absolutely not) he wasn’t sure, he asked if I rode, I said not since my teenage years…….. Of course since that conversation which was in a kebab shop (honest), I have got myself a bike and I have been riding (since March mind), I am nearly up to 100 miles on a single outing, not every day, and only if the hills are not too steep, so still a little more work to be done.

Please everyone give what you can, it is a wonderful charity,
a worthy cause and I know the charity Tanyel’s Smile will put it to excellent use.
