Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Working on Nike I am surrounded by sporty, young fitness freaks. These guys made me look old, tired and generally out of shape. As I approach 40 I felt it was time to do something about that. Combine that with some good old fashioned user testing I started to go running.
Before I knew it, I was enjoying it, running as a way to fight jet lag, tension and I was feeling so much better for it. So on new year's eve last year I set myself a goal to run an official race this year – and here I am running in the London 10k.
I am raising money for the Alzheimer's Society for 2 main reasons – Over the last 10 years I saw how dementia affects people – Emily's Grandad passed away in 2011 after suffering many years of dementia. We saw first hand how difficult it can be to get the right care, and how devastating the illness is for those families affected. As someone who is always looking into the future I worry about how we are all going to cope. Living longer, our bodies supported by science and medicine, but our brains losing the ability to control those systems.
So please support my running and my money raising and I will do my best to make us all proud.
