My Mum lost her war with cancer last year, it was a very difficult time for all my family.

I spent time last year raising money for Macmillan, whilst I was walking Hadrians wall, just after mum had passed away, I recieved a phone call asking me would I consider being Deputy Mayor and Mayor this year.  Me just an ordinary person !!! was it fate? Maybe.

I would like to believe it was my mum looking down and saying, embrace all lifes oppertunities Jayne be brave enough to go through the door and embrace new oppertunites.  So my chosen chariety was easy Overgate Hospice.  I believe in the work of all Hospices'

As Mayor I intend to hold some fundraising events to raise the much needed funds to support Overgate.
