Paris Marathon 2013 · 7 April 2013 ·
On April 7th Tom Beamont, Elliott Carande and Rob MacIntosh will run the Paris Marathon, in support of Cancer Research UK.
This year sees the first ever marathon run as part of Oxford Runs Abroad. The idea is simple: every year, around the world, students from Oxford will run sponsored races wearing ‘sub fusc’ exam uniform. Whether as part of study, travelling or living abroad, students will be donning a gown, mortarboard, bow-tie and suit, to run everything from marathons to fun-runs.
Originally, we had planned to run the marathon in support of Oxford Homeless Pathways, but we have decided to change the charity that Oxford Runs Abroad supports for the first year. Cancer is a disease that has touched our families very recently and we feel that we should change our charity choice to reflect this.
2013 is the first year of fund-raising for this worthy cause, and we would love to have as much support as possible to get the ball rolling. The better this first race goes, the more likely it is that Oxford Runs Abroad could become a long-term, meaningful donor to charities.
Thank you! We are very grateful for your interest and support.
