We are raising money for Alzeihmer's Society UK, a chairty who are leading the fight against dementia through funding vital research that targets the cause, cure, care and prevention of all types of dementia. 

Dementia is a complex disease that has a major impact on both the lives of the people who suffer from it and the friends and family of the affected individual. It is progressive with symptoms worsening over a long period of time, an experience that is distressing for all those involved in that person's care. 

 

Alzeihmer's Society UK provide essential support for people suffering from the disease and those close to them, who often have to take on the unexpected role of carer. For many people this support can make all the difference at what can be a very upsetting and uncertain time in their lives. 

Our target is £200 which is enough support a person with dementia with visits from a volunteer once a week for a month, allowing them to continue with their hobbies and interests.

 

Alternatively, it could fund a session of "Singing for the Brain," a social activity that is desigened to help people in the early to moderate stages of dementia.
