Our life-changing research can fight diseases, tackle global challenges and change society. At Nottingham, students from all backgrounds can achieve extraordinary things, in and out of the classroom. But talent needs a catalyst. You can shape the future and help make the incredible happen, every day

Story

Project Tshela is a team of Architecture students from the University of Nottingham who are going to build a creche in Mokomotsie: an under-privileged village in Limpopo, South Africa.

My name is Tom Dobbins and I am fortunate to be part of this great team. It is the 6th project that the University of Nottingham has backed (tshela being six in the local language), and the project is a fantastic way to help the lives of hundreds of children who lack the opportunities we all take for granted.

The goal is to raise £1000 for the materials used to build the creche, and then in Easter go out and build it ourselves. All your money will go towards the building of the creche, avoiding the middle man and helping the community directly.
