Tour de Bournemouth · 16 April 2014

Prospect Hospice provides end-of-life care to people and offers support to their loved ones. Our specialist teams provide care that is tailored to the needs of each person. All our care is provided free of charge and it costs £10.5 million to run our services. Your support is vital to our care.

Story

After the recent buzz of the “Around the world in 80 ways” initiative a  team of 11 Nationwide Building Society employees (Dan Hardy, Matt Luker, Rudolf Heaf, Robin Jeffery, Henry Jordan, Glen Garner, Chris Freestone, Dan Bennet, Rob Coe, Ian Range & John Tushingham) have decided to keep fit by raising money and awareness for a great charity.

The charity we’ll be supporting is the Prospect Hospice in Swindon which is a charity close to the team’s hearts and also one that Nationwide actively supports.  The money raised for the charity, no matter how big or small, will provide a huge benefit to help in their great cause.

To raise money the team will be cycling from Swindon NH to Bournemouth BAC on the 16 April. The route we’ll be taking is 80 miles and we’ll be aiming to cycle this non-stop within 1 day, with a stop a for lunch!!!

Athletes we are not, so this will be a challenge for all on the team and we hope this will be something you will support us with.

We’ve already had some great support from John Tushingham offering to drive a support car to make sure we’re all safe and that all goes well. If you want to, or know anyone, that wants to cook the group a much deserved chilli when we get to Bournemouth, please let us know (haha!).

Thanks
