Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We've completed our coast to coast bike ride now, covering 135km in 48 hours, thanks to industrial quantities of Super Noodles and Sudocrem. The weather, like the scenery, was amazing and sunburn was as much of a problem as saddle-sores. Pete's superhuman efforts saw him tow the trailer ('Bob') the whole way, even when he lost half of his gears (a task made even more difficult by our insistence that he carried enough alcohol to sink a battleship); John ended the ride with only one gear but still managed to beat the rest of us to the top of every hill. Stu's 90 whole minutes of training just about paid off and as for me, I still can't fully bend my legs five days later but I loved every minute of it!
The money we've raised is going to St Wilfrid's to say thanks for the support, care and time that they gave Pete's mum in her last few weeks. Money can't say enough but it will help them to continue working with seriously ill people and to give them and their families a place where they can find peace, support and dignity. St Wilfrid's only get 10% of their £4M per year running costs from the NHS - the rest is through charitable donations like ours - so they need whatever you can give.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
We're keeping this page open for a few months, so please dig deep and donate now.
Cheers,
Jim, Pete, Stu and John
